Yamakiikai Porcelain Kyusu Teapot 230ml
This teapot is a piece of living art from the Tokoname kilns. Crafted by the renowned potter Isshin, this Kyusu is defined by its "Yohen" or ash-glazed finish. Unlike uniform industrial pottery, the unique color gradients on this pot are created naturally inside the kiln, where falling ash melts onto the clay surface during firing. This results in a rustic, textured aesthetic ("Wabi-Sabi") that makes every single piece truly one-of-a-kind.
With a capacity of 230ml, this pot is designed for intimate tea moments. It is the perfect vessel for brewing high-quality Sencha or Gyokuro for yourself or a guest. Despite the artistic finish, it remains a functional tool at heart: The clay body retains heat excellently, and the traditional side-handle design allows for effortless, precise pouring.
Inside, you will find a fine stainless steel mesh strainer that covers the spout opening. This ensures that even fine-leaf teas (like Fukamushi) can be poured smoothly without clogging, giving you a clear, aromatic cup every time.
