Warabimochiko Sweet Potato Flour 82g
Warabi Mochiko is the essential specialty starch used to easily prepare traditional Japanese Warabi Mochi. Unlike standard mochi flour, it is not derived from glutinous rice; instead, it is based on high-quality plant starches, such as those from sweet potatoes or tapioca. When heated with water and sugar, this fine powder transforms into an elastic, jelly-like, and wonderfully delicate treat.
Warabimochiko flour gives the dessert its signature soft, wobbly consistency that melts on the tongue. Foolproof preparation: The starch mixes easily without clumping and quickly becomes glossy and translucent when cooked in a pot. It's just perfect for refreshing summer desserts; traditionally served with nutty kinako (roasted soybean flour) and sweet kuromitsu (sugar syrup).
