The fine flour of Shirakiku Kinako is made from soybeans, the beans are roasted and then grated to a fine powder. The classic color of Kinako is light brown, but depending on which type of soybean is used, the flour can also be green or black. The roasting process gives the flour its slightly sweet, nutty taste. Do you like peanuts? Then you will surely like Kinako! If you use it for sweetening, a little sugar is added to the flour.
How to use: This ingredient is versatile, as you can use it for sweetening but also for baking. By the way, soybean flour is gluten-free, but cannot replace all of the flour.
