Matcha Castella Sponge Cake 170 g

The green in this castella is Japanese-grown matcha, 3.5 percent of the cake. Maruto builds the flavor around it: a soft, fine-crumbed sponge with a full matcha taste.

Castella came to Japan with Portuguese traders in the 16th century. Matcha gives the old sponge cake a Japanese accent.

Each pack holds seven pieces. Serve them with hojicha or sencha, or whisk a bowl of matcha to go with it.
