Yuzu Amazake 200g

Yuzu Amazake is fermented rice porridge enriched with the Japanese yuzu citrus fruit. This Yuzu amazake is made by fermenting steamed rice, koji rice, yuzu and some water for a day. The resulting ferment is rich in oligosaccharides, antioxidants, fiber, B vitamins and essential amino acids. Therefore, Amazake is also famous as a health tonic in Japan and is a high-quality vegan sweetener. The added yuzu gives the mild amazake an unmistakable Japanese note with a fresh scent and elegant taste.
Traditionally, amazake is usually drunk warm and diluted with a little water. In summer it makes a refreshing drink with tonic water and ice cubes. It is also ideal as a base for ice cream and smoothies or for sweetening muesli and yoghurt. With a little salt, yuzu amazake is also ideal for pickling vegetables and makes an excellent Japanese-tasting tsukemono.
