Boutiques de Tokyo - Mateusz Urbanowicz
Mateusz Urbanowicz, one of the most famous Tokyo designers, decided to publish his first work from a series of ten watercolors of old shop fronts in Tokyo, which had great success with many media in Japan.
The book brings together fifty watercolor drawings from shops across Tokyo. With reference to these drawings, Mateusz tells of the discreet life that these small shops lead, of the architectural details that make up the charm of these places, which take place away from the noise of large shopping centers and make up the real world of Tokyo. Very interesting: At the end of the book the author explains his working method and the material used in a very instructive way.
Mateusz Urbanowicz was born in 1986 in Silesia, Poland. After studying computer science, he worked for the tablet manufacturer Wacom and painted at the same time, before he realized that this is his real passion. He then attended graphics school and moved to Kobe, Japan to improve his animation and comics skills. In 2017 he decided to concentrate on his own work and soon published his first book: Boutiques de Tokyo.
