Saibashi Cooking Chopsticks Bamboo
You most likely think of a pair of chopsticks as a simple utensil for grabbing your sushi rather than a professional cooking tool. Sure, we are talking about those cheap wooden pairs out of your takeout bag. But here's another set of chopsticks that’s destined for much more.
Called saibashi in Japanese, these unique chopsticks are typically made of bamboo and significantly longer — ranges are between 32 to 40cm in length.
How to use them? You can use them in many situations: While you still need your spatula and your spoon to cook, with these you can be a little more precise - you can really pinpoint what you want to handle. Saibashi can be used to toss a stir-fry just as well, if not better than a spatula. Use the chopsticks to flip the protein and vegetables and to mix all of the ingredients together.
They’re a great plating tool as well and you can use them to move individual components within the plate so that you can present a stir-fry that’s worthy of a restaurant, instead of one that’s just been scooped onto the dish.
Try it out and you never want to miss them again in your own kitchen.
